The Power of Affirmation

I strongly believe that there is power in affirmations. I have been giving free English Language lessons to a Taiwanese boy for some months now. Just last week, his mom told me that his grade had improved. I have always been strong  in languages, especially English and Chinese, and so what the mom told me did not come as a surprise to me. But I believe another reason for the boy's improvement in grade was because of my use of genuine affirmations. In the past, when I was doing relief teaching in a primary school, most of my students' grades improved significantly after I taught them for about 2 months and 1 week. (Only 2 students' grades remained about the same.)  I believe that one of the reasons was because I often affirmed them.

The Power of Belief

There is power in belief. By that, I mean there is power in what you believe about yourself, what you believe about your future, etc.

But true power comes from the people. It comes from gaining the trust and support of the people who then give you the power. Power is like love. The more you try to give it to others, the more it just seems to flow to you naturally.
~~ James A. Autry (Author of "The Servant Leader")

The Power of Our Words

In the beginning, God simply spoke the word and the entire world came into being. And since we have been created in the likeness of God, our words likewise have creative power. Thus, our words have the power to build up and to tear down. Hence, it is extremely important for us to watch what we say to ourselves and to others, especially to children.

If we hope to see our dreams materialised, then we must be very careful with what we say to ourselves pertaining to these dreams that we hold dear in our hearts.
