When it's a political party that's 'blocking' your access to employment...

It's sad to read or hear of politicians engaging in name-calling publicly. Sigh...

General Election (GE) 2015

I was reading someone's FB post on the GE yesterday. I agree with him that the PAP must remain in power to ensure Singapore's political stability, which is essential to attract foreign investments, etc. And it's of fundamental importance for the PAP to remain in power in the long run. However, I don't agree with him that having only 'one voice' in Parliament is good enough.

General Election (GE) 2015

I believe this year's GE is going to have a significant impact on Singapore's future political landscape.

Dr Chee Soon Juan

I admire people who dare to stand by what they believe in regardless of the price they have to pay. One such person is Dr Chee Soon Juan. Check out an article on him at https://sg.news.yahoo.com/blogs/singaporescene/peek-life-chee-soon-juan-050517946.html.

Food for Thought

If you really believe in your God (whoever your God may be), then there's no need for you to play politics at work.

Hougang By-Election

I don't think it's healthy to have one party dominating the political scene in Singapore and so I am glad that the Workers' Party has managed to retain its Hougang seat.:)

Presidential Election 2011

I don't like the ugly side of politics. I don't understand why some people like to smear the reputation of other people just to make themselves look good, etc. Will they have clear conscience? Do they think that people are so easily deceived?

Presidential Election 2011

I remember during my university days, I visited a church that was near my hostel. It happened to be on a Sunday when the holy communion was served. I saw Dr Tony Tan & his wife, who were seated just a few rows from the back. When it was time for holy communion to be served, he and his wife joined the queue. This left a deep impression on me, because I did not expect him to join the queue like the rest of the congregation. When it was his turn to take the bread and the cup from the priest, he actually knelt down to receive them. His attitude of humility is what I like about him. It is an apparently rare quality among politicians. Thus, I will be voting for him in the upcoming election. :)

General Election 2011

After polling results for Bishan-Toa Payoh GRC & Potong Pasir SMC were announced yesterday, I kind of felt sad for Mr Chiam See Tong, because he had served residents at Potong Pasir selflessly for the past 27 years. Furthermore, he is such an exemplary leader. It's such a pity...

General Election 2011

I have great respect for MM Lee and SM Goh but I can't say the same for other members of the ruling party. Hence, I am all for a change of government. However, I am not in favour of an abrupt change because this will have a serious impact on the nation as a whole. Furthermore, at this present time, only the ruling party is able to ensure economic and social stability for this small nation.

General Election 2011

Tomorrow is Polling Day. Who will get my vote does not depend on the political party that he belongs to. Ultimately, the deciding factor for me is whether the MP genuinely cares for his constituents. If he only appears to be 'active' in his constituency just before election but he is not present during Meet-the-People sessions, then I can't say that he really has a heart for the people that he is supposed to serve.
