在不久前终于知道为什么在之前的工作地方突然间有这么多小人。虽然我在职场上一直都会遇到小人，但是也没有这么多。不知道原因的人可能以为我有人际关系上的问题或有人格问题。其实根本就是那些小人有问题，才会处处针对我，讲我的不是。他们太可怕了!

Lessons Learnt

1. You could be the best employee in your department/company. But as long as your supervisor does not like you or feels that you are a threat to him/her (because of his/her own insecurities), you can expect that he/she would rather keep those who are incompetent or lousy than to keep you.

2. There is no guarantee that you will get to keep your job or get a promotion at work just because your boss likes you (in the romantic sense).

3. If your boss likes you (in the romantic sense) but if you do not reciprocate, you can expect that he/she may turn nasty or he/she may not want to keep you, even if you are the best employee.

4. It may not be a good thing to be liked by your supervisor/boss, if he/she is of the opposite gender or if he/she is a homosexual.

5. Being pretty/handsome or charming may not be a good thing, unless you are prepared to use your good looks or charm to your advantage and face the possibility of betraying your conscience in the process.

今天，我的牙医让我感动。:) 这两天也有其他让我感动的人与事。除了要感激那些让我感动的人之外，其实我也该感激那些职场上的小人，因为他们的存在让我学会了保护自己等等（除了他们的小人烂招术），也让我发现其实我是被保护着的。。。人在做，天在看。。。是真的。。。

我的想法

小人很可怕; 有暴力倾向的小人更可怕。偏偏很多慈善机构似乎就是很喜欢凭请这样的人。难道这些慈善机构的领导层不知道很多中途转换跑道的人都没有什么好心肠吗? 难道他们不懂这些中途转换跑道的人很多时候都是因为被裁退等等原因才想进入慈善机构的吗? 后者很多时候都不是基于想帮助不幸的人才想加入慈善机构的。 难道领导层真的不懂吗? 难道慈善机构因为欠缺人才或有空缺就该随便凭请人吗? 至少该有基本原则吧? 不应该因为欠缺人才或有空缺而随便凭请人吧?  真可悲。。。

Some charities such as the one I'm working at seem to like to employ people with 'questionable integrity', who'll resort to underhand and unscrupulous means, without thinking twice, just to get rid of someone who's upright and above board. Ironically, some of these people seem to think that despite their evil inclinations, they'll still be protected by their gods or by something else. And even more ironically, some of them still think they'll go to heaven when they exit from this world. Do they really think they can escape retribution (or bad karma) or judgement despite all the despicable things they've done and their evil inclinations???!!!

My Thoughts

There are so many troublemakers at my workplace...sigh...:( They seem to enjoy being troublemakers and making life miserable for others. Without these troublemakers, my workplace would be such a peaceful place. :) And without these troublemakers, I'd not have to waste SO MUCH precious time protecting my files, etc, etc. If my big boss would remove existing troublemakers and stop employing troublemakers, I'm sure it'd boost overall productivity and morale at work.

Some people simply enjoy bullying others and yet are thick-skinned enough to pretend to be fair in front of their bosses. They are such despicable hypocrites! They are probably thinking that they will continue to be spared from judgment/punishment just because they have been spared all these years. There is a season for everything and their season for judgment/punishment is probably near at hand.

With reference to my earlier posts, I must say that I am not against foreigners and foreigners working in Singapore per se, because I do have friends who are foreigners.

If the writer I mentioned in the earlier post were to work in a non-profit organisation, he would probably be very disheartened because the bullying he might encounter in such an organisation could be many times worse than what he had experienced at his recent workplace. So, if you are aspiring to become social workers or if you are hoping to work in a non-profit organisation, please do not have the expectation that you will be working alongside angelic social workers or colleagues (non-social work colleagues).

I just read an article in www.therealsingapore.com. The writer talked about workplace bullies who are FTs. I can relate to how he feels about the bullying, because I am often bullied at work. :(  Specifically, he mentioned about how his foreign superiors had bullied him. At least he could take comfort in the fact that the foreigners who had bullied him were his superiors, not colleagues or subordinates. I am not being sarcastic, because I have ever been bullied by foreigners who are not even my superiors. (This is a 'sick' world with a lot of 'sick' people.)
