My Thoughts

I hope to start doing something for women (and girls), particularly women  (and girls) in neighbouring countries who are in vulnerable situations - women (and girls) who are targets of human trafficking rings. Besides children, women have a special place in my heart (not because I am a woman). Reading news of women (and girls) being sexually exploited or raped stirs up deep emotions of anger in me (not because I was ever in those situations) and I know I have to do something for them. The last time I did volunteering work was some years ago, when I volunteered to tutor a Chinese student from Taiwan. Now that my health is getting better, I think it's time for me to start volunteering again. But before I can do significant amount of volunteering work, I must first make sure that I am in tip-top condition physically.

Food for Thought

The emotional waves that often ride the tide of the young person's cognitive and decision-making abilities are often present, and your surfing skills, even when the emotional tides are high, can serve you in continuing to help the young person swim to his or her destination.

"Emotional labor," which is the effort we make to control and change our own emotions, is associated with stress, burnout, and even physical symptoms like an increase in cardiovascular disease.

My Thoughts

According to a colleague, writing is therapeutic. I agree absolutely. Writing helps me to release negative emotions and negative thoughts. It helps me to get unstuck. That's why I like writing, and in particular, writing songs.

Chronic cheating is rooted in an emotional emptiness that can give people the need to feel constantly desired.

Food for Thought - Love

Love is the desire to benefit others even at the expense of self, because love desires to give. Love centers in the will, not the emotions.

如果要达成梦想的关键之一是拥有健康的体魄...嗨...那我真的得好好照顾身体了。但是身与心毕竟有关联,所以若要真的拥有健康的体魄,也不能忽视心灵的健康。

Recently, I heard someone say that regulating one's emotions will bring healing. Hmmm...it is something worth pondering over.

If we cling on to something in our past that was painful, it can 'cripple' us emotionally and even spiritually. We can either choose to live in the shadow of our past or move forward in life. I believe that the choice we make will have a significant impact on how our future will look like.
