When someone means a lot to you, you will consciously or subconsciously be interested in anything that reminds you of him or her. So, for instance, if that person is an Indian, you will be interested in places like India and Little India (in Singapore). You will also be interested in any Hindu festivals and anything else that is 'Indian'. You do not need to study psychology to know these things.
